In delhi everyone has travelled on Shama Prasad Mukherjee Marg, its the road one takes to travel to old Delhi Railway station.
I never wondered why a road has been named upon him & what contributions he did to the society? But after looking at the books cover the writers name “Shama Prasad Mukherjee” glitz up in my mind. And make me open the book.

It includes a poem ‘The famine by Rabindranath Tagore” at starting. After reading the foreward, preface & Message by reviewers of the book, i felt a rage in my heart that how can a human race do something like genrating a famine?

This context made me dwell into the book & know the sequences, almost 3 million people lost their life, heritage and culture gets a huge step backards as an outome to this manmade genocide.

However the steps should be taken regarding the supply food and basic eminities to bengal but not being done by the colonial government at that time ,out of their political benifits and war strategies.

This book in English is well needed commentry on shama prasad’s work in English.
